  • 78 E Owners manual

Anyone have one of these? I'm trying to find the chart regarding the upper fork and shock load settings. This summer I will ride it bare but next year I will have the full pacifico and hard bags on it, loaded down. I assume that the upper fork mechanism can be disassembled and cleaned. Took me eight months of soaking the tops in penetrating oil to even get them off the uppers so you can imagine what the internals are like.

I think you will need a service manual. I DO have an old owners manual around, just take me a bit to find it and scan the page you want.
Remember, when you ordered the "tour kit", it came with the fairing, heavy duty fork springs, and new rear shocks to handle the extra load. If you have the "stock", 37 year old springs in the front try to get a replacement set!
PM if the service manual from catatonicbug doen't have the chart.

      touring package.

This one was naked when i rescued it. I bought the fairing after and have had refurbished as well. Are the heavier springs available or are we talking about progressives

Heavier springs CAN be found now and then, but they are hard to identify and most ebay sellers don't know or care. Progressive springs will help, but again, try to find the OEM HD springs. I think Orange4 said something about finding a set in this thread:http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43589&page=3 Read from page 3 and you will see the difference between the springs. There are a few other links in there for springs as well.

          Hi Mack,
I am looking for replacement springs for my Venturer too.
Keep me posted on what if any you find. I know Traxxion will custom wind but then we have the border problem.
