    Gas Tank Emblems

Are the emblems the same on standard & special? I found some but, the guy says they are from a 1979 XS1100 Special gas tank emblems off a . Mine is a 78 XS11E Standard. Will they fit?
There's always a way, figure it out.

I've sold about fifty pair of emblems on eBay and no one has complained that they didn't fit.

Are you the one selling the golf cart emblems as XS11 tank badges?

Yes, I was and I have never had a complaint. Only problem is that you can't get them now. I have them on my '81 special and wish I had saved a pair for the future.

I don't need these but somebody out there might.

Please look closely. They are broken! One is broken in the "A", the other across the "Y".

They turn up all the time but the imatation gold plating is usually worn off. I have a hand full of them that aren't damaged but look like crap.

I found a used Euro model tank (no emblems) that I'm going to use on the Mongrel but I now need to find Yamaha decals fir it or have it painted on after I refinish the tank.

MikesXS lists gold emblems for $30 a set, I think. I haven't called to check if they are in stock, though. The do appear to have some curvature to them, but it is awfully hard to tell.

                      Emblems are not cracked!

                      Dudes,

Check out the reflection of the photographers hands. They look like back side cracks, but they are the reflection of the dude's hands.

                      Pretty cool, huh?
                      Gone but never Forgotten:

                      Current:

                      2007 Honda CBR600RR - "Twitch"

"Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body; but rather to skid on broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming:

                      WOW - What a ride!

The emblems that MIKE'S XS sells are about 10% smaller than what is on the XS1100 and the holes don't line up. YAMAHA had them look right rather than standardize.

The best way to check parts like this is to look the numbers up on the YAMAHA site and then look up the same thing on the XS650 and see if the numbers match. A lot of the stuff is the same. A lot isn't.

The smaller ones are for the 650.
I bought a new (OEM) pair for the 1100 and a mate had done me some favours so I donated them to him. Too big
