Which Clutch Cable?

Looking on German Ebay I can only find a clutch cable and sleeve for a XS 1100 2H9 will that same cable and sleeve fit my XS 1100 5K7?

Looks like '78 - '81 used the same clutch cable in the US...but maybe Europe is a different story? Probably doesn't help you much and maybe I should have kept quiet.

Look at the handle bars on the 5K7. I think they are close to the 2H7 of the US, so the cable will work. Maybe a search of the UK site will give a better answer, as a few of the members there DO deal with both US and EU spec. bikes.

YA but on Ebay some are like this:

which are the 2 types of ends I got and some have this rubber thingy on on the clutch end:

which im not sure will work on mine cause mine looks like the one on top even tho the description for both items here are the same. So I do gotta be careful what i order. Either way you guys think the 2H9 cable will be the same length as the one for the 5K7?

The top one has the correct style ends, and trying to read German (my wife's job!) isn't what I can do. I would check both the overall length of the old cable, as well as how much cable is left out of the sheath by pulling one end as far as you can. It looks as if they are saying 4.5 cm for free length, and that sounds correct.
The second one is a "stock picture" I hope. That is, a picture of just any cable to show something. If they say it is the cable, it is wrong BECAUSE of the dust boot at the one end.

COOL ya i gotta go by the picture on ebay also and if they show a dustboot in the pic thats the cable they are probably selling. Germans are sticklers on EBAY meaning VERY PRECISE!!!!! They get banned off of Ebay over here pretty quick for making normal human mistakes and being a little inaccurate its crazy. Selling over here SUCKS!!! Because potential buyers will ask you things about your own item for sale that you dont even know lol
