  • New guy for exhaust

I just found out that a guy around here bought these pipes within the last year. He gave me the sellers ebay number so I could find him. The fellow had two 78E's for sale and I missed them by a couple of hours. I would have loved to hear this exhaust but could not. He told me that they were not obnoxious but more like a magnaflow exhaust
I went on ebay and find that he apparently has 10 exhaust systems for sale and they are made by himself and they are a patented product. He has them in black paint and chrome is an option although it is a 225 buck option.
So although I do not know a lot about them I will say that if he makes a decent exhaust system for our bikes we need to support him if we can.
Looking at about 600 bucks as far as I have seen but WTF you gonta do with that old rotten exhaust anyways?
So without further bullcrap I will post the ebay link and hopefully someone will have the bucks and need to try one of these.

Oh yeah and he is on Facebook as X-Pipe Patented.

Ras- I'm finding it hard to believe that you're not familiar with the Campbell X-Pipe, and the model line offered. I believe there are two different models. There are a few members on here with them. They ride VERY LOW to the ground.

That being said... How many campbell x pipes are now available to us. If this is for real then we have another site to possibly procure an exhaust system. I just wanted to point out that they may be still available to fellow members who need an exhaust. I would not buy one at that price due to my having stock replacement ones in my garage. But with needing an exhaust system I would look into this a bit.

At least one member bought one of these (XS1100carbon) and besides the cost, had to do frame/kickstand mods to get it to fit with decent ground clearance. And you have to pull the exhaust to change the oil filter...
Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

I think I'd take the 40% more midrange power increase with a just a little salt.

Says he has 10 available. Do you know of any other exhaust that is currently available? Not so hard to pull exhaust if that is what you have to work with as opposed to rusted, busted old stock ones.
Dunno, just saw it on ebay and posted it so members and lurkers could get an idea as to what is out there. Much too much for me at this time, but I would buy em as an investment if I could.

And down in the fine print, near the bottom of the page, he says they are for racing only, "they are not sreet legal".

A lot of manufacturer's make that same disclaimer. It says "Legal Disclaimer: For racing purposes only. No aftermarket exhaust is "street legal." Only the OEM exhaust is "street legal." So it would seem any other supplier would have to make this same claim.
I am seriously considering ordering a set of these and replacing my spaghetti jardines and seeing if they are all they claim. My wife on the other hand seems to think that as she rules the roost she has trump on me. Might have to "Accidentally" (sorry babe) click on the buy it now
It also says "This is the best Road race exhaust and the best Drag race exhaust design for these motorcycles. It weighs under 14#. That's lighter than any titanium UFO. It gives 1 1/2" more ground clearance than most UFOs. You can not rub this exhaust on the ground in Road racing corners. Even if you drop the bike, the exhaust will usually escape unscratched. It'll pay for itself many times over. " So it may have some issues with oil filter clearance.

I have to pull the Kerker to change the filter..... If the company is in California, THAT is the reason for the "race use only". Our California Air Resources Board (CARB) is the bane of almost ALL that like things to go fast.
Oh, and yes, there ARE aftermarket systems that you can put on a stock machine, and keep it legal. The good thing about our bikes is NOBODY CHECKS on the West Coast.

                      Hey Ras-

Get with Carbon and see how he likes the exhaust. He did post several comments after he installed the system.

The good (or bad) thing about our bikes is nobody cares in Georgia. The vee twin crown can be as loud as they want. No state noise restrictions. No mandate for common sense. Pipes aren't street legal? No problem. Helmet law isn't enforced, either.

I had a Kerker 4-1 on my old 78 and even with the extra spacer for the oil cooler could still change oil without dropping exhaust - it was tight and not as easy but doable.

                            X-pipe

I got both the mx-3 for my first and the standard for my next build. The MX-3 does require kickstand mod and can touch a can on the ground in a tight turn. Not the case with a original X-PIPE. It's the one on ebay. I would just get the black one. Very racy and sounds great to me. On the power side it breathes very well lets the bigger carbs do there thing. But it doesn't turn it into a new R1. They are the pipe for me though. I like em. Hope this helps.
