  • Trying it green

So I have been messing with my bike for a couple weeks now trying to modify it to fit me. And this is what I have so far. I finally broke down and purchased the blinking unit from the autoparts store so I can use the more current lights. And I trimmed the back fender, but still need to finish the edge. I also tore apart the seat and figured out how to make a seat cover, but still not entirely happy with how it turned out. And need to pull it off and even out that back edge after pounding on it so it didn't stick out so much. And moved the electrical brain from on top of the fender to that space where the tools used to be. And I have the second gas tank off and stripped and ready to paint this weekend. And my new carb body will be in hopefully tomorrow, now that the chicago area has thawed. Also have brand new boots to throw on as well. So the picture below is the color I will be attempting to have on it. Let me know what you think!

I'd go with a darker green if you plan-on keeping that color of seat. Look at Ford Mustangs in Dark green with peanut butter top. Do you plan-on having your seat re-done? The tread on your rear tire is interesting. Almost looks as-if it's backwards, or a front tire tread. Must vbe the cam playing tricks.

Regarding the color, I believe it's time for a discussion with a Mr TopCatGr58(TC).

That flesh colored seat won't go with any color I don't think.

                Nzemke,

I like the first photo of post #5 best. That color seat would probably go good with a dark brown too. Just my ¢2.

yeah the more I look at the seat I know I will need to redo it...need a darker, rustic brown.

                  Maybe like,

You can go with a darker green - Like a Forrest Green

I think you would still want to go with a darker seat cover, but then I always check with my wife to make sure the colors look good together

                          Hi nzemke,
It'd give a better idea of the paint job if your computer's crayoning kit could make the colour look shiny instead of matte.
Or you could have your computer show us how well an Afrika Korps matte tan paint job would match the seat cover?
I think a tan seat with green paint looks OK but I'm the guy who painted his rig Astro towtruck orange.

If you really want that sort of green, might I suggest the addition of some white pin-striping or white accents to help set it off. Even just the original style pin-striping on that tank may set it off.
While BA80's does look good in green, I can not imagine yours looking anywhere near as good, specially with that seat. Truth be told I can not see that bike ever looking good with a green paint and that color of seat combined. Sorry but that's my truth.
