Did you use Caswells Gad Tank Epoxy or something else (lie Kreem)? Many of us have had good results with the Caswell coating avalible at http://www.caswellplating.com/aids/epoxygas.htm - I believe.

They are nice people and doo good business.

If no one one the list has a spare tank, i would try ebay.

          Hey Eagle,
I sold a VX700 Virago to a friend last week. He got the tank cleand & coated at a local radiator shop for $45.00. May want to check your local radiator shop.

The standard came off an 79 xs 1100, standard, the standard tanks are bigger than the special, and are set up for the standard petcocks, where as the special has only one petcock and works with an octopus, which has 4 fuel/air lines. the standard has two petcoks, with one fuel line to each, as well as two lines coming off the intake boots that connect to the petcocks. Eagle, we are trying to find out which 79 XS1100 you have. There are two options, the Standard and the Special.
Check the specs section of this site. There is a section that lists which serial numbers go with each model.
Take a few minutes to look at the pictures also.
