  • Its getting closer!

Been working hard on the XS during the winter, very close now
Going to order my brake lines on Friday and that should be all that's left.
Here are some pics for updates

    Fresh Rubber!

New headlight and after market turns

Still a few inches of snow on the ground here but im hoping once that melts off and the brake lines come in the Beast may see the light of day again!

OK, back to the "nice looking bike!" I just got the carbs done for my project, and they should be on Thursday. And I AM running Shinko's on it as well.

        Hi Ray,
most likely the dress form is there to check the fit of Justin's racing leathers.

Good looking so far. How did you paint the wheels? If rattle can, what did you use?

Buddy of mine actually powder coated the wheels, grab bar, both fenders, and the engine covers
The color is charcoal so it looks a little matte in color.
I had originally painted them with high temp bbq paint but buddy said no way and took them to his shop lol

Hope you pulled all the bearings out of those wheels before you coated them and then installed new ones... if not, new bearings are in your future. The cure heat will kill the grease in them.

Another issue is coating the rear wheel exposes the drive hub rubber 'shock absorbers' to excessive heat when curing. These can't be removed (or replaced), if these fail you have to replace the wheel....

You'll also have to scrape the coating off the hubs where the brake rotors locate otherwise you won't get them on.
