I brought home a free bike some time ago. Some of it was in boxes. Over a year ago, I decided to just assemble it, so I know what I have. I have missing pieces and the parts may or may not be easier to come by than if it was an XS11. The eBay bike will be missing a lot of parts as Mike suggests.Marty (in Mississippi)

I bought an entire bike, disassembled and in plastic crates, for only £250. The eBay guy is asking £1600 at the moment. Insane!XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. Basically this bike is a parts donor, no more than that. I can imagine spending thousands on it and then finding it throwing out oil smoke, making weird noises etc.
I can't believe anyone would try to sell a bike in that condition for so much!!!XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. He says "the engine has been stripped for the notorious second gear problem"...er, taken entirely to pieces for that???. New head? jugs off, pistons off, cases split and all the bits put into boxes.....for the second gear fix?? Wow! All the tips about it here on the forum must have got it wrong

There's lots of folk on here complaining that our bikes aren't commanding high enough prices, and as soon as we find someone doing as we wish we moan.
I also reckon no more than £200Tom

This one is a corker, unknown and completely in bits, second gear problem, chain guides knackered, almost 80,000 miles on the clock, "there are signs of wear and tear in many different areas" (really?I didn't notice), missing loads of OEM bits, non OEM carbs, literally a basket case. But "this is a nice bike once engine has been built".
Yes, £200 max and, even then, only if it has the registration document for the frame..... I have it on my watch list....
I wonder if he means swap for a VMax 1200 or perhaps one of the 1700's?XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace.
