Is there supposed to be a c-clip on the outside of the middle drive gear? I can't remember having one on mine but that doesn't mean I just didn't lose it.

Hey Mack,

According to this OEM diagram on Yamaha's Site:

There is a circlip on the end of the shaft that fits into the engine, but it appears to be for holding on the bearing onto the shaft in the middle drive case. There does Not appear to have a compression circlip on the END of the shaft like the actual driveshaft has to keep it engaged into the U-joint yoke!

I thought I was loosing my mind there for a bit. I thought I might have lost it but upon inspecting the shaft, there realy isn't a slot like the others to accept a clip. Just wanted to make sure before I put it all back together again.
