  • Black Chrome & ??

I've found a few Midnight Specials available and I think it's time to start making some decissions. I've noticed that even on the low mileage ones (11,000) the pipes seem to take a beating from stones off the front tire and scuffing from boots ect. Has anyone had any experiance with trying to redo these pipes? If so, what sort of money does it cost? Not cheap I'm sure. I'm familiar with Jet Hot but it doesn't really have the same appearance. IMHO, the black chrome is one of the most defineing characteristics of the MNS. Without that I'd probably be just as well off buying (for a lot less money) a slightly tatered, regular special & repainting everything black.

2nd question... How hard would it be to change the left side cover on the engine where it says Yamaha? One I'm looking at looks like it got droped on that side at one point.

    Thanks, UD

The left side engine cover is only held on by the allen head cap screws and can be changed in a couple of minutes.
