There is a bus company around here that is changing all their bus headlights to the 5x7 version of this LED light. I have talked to a couple of them and they say they love the light output much better than the old halogens.

I do not think their light glare any more than halogens.

I believe my old halogen on high beam doesn't even come close to the LED on low beam.

After seeing your photos, Boone, I went ahead and purchased a truck lite too. That light spread is danm impressive. Looks like I'll be stationed next to my mail box for the next week or so.

You won't be disappointing. Don't forget to take a look at the tail lights as well. I have 4 in the trunk and two in the bike tail light. Got them here.

If I switched to the led style brake bulb, is it plug and play or would I need to install a resistor?

There is many write-up on here regarding LED's. One of the guys I turn-to for info is Nate Moen. Off the top of my head, my worry would be that it'd set-off the oil light due to it's low power draw. Besides the point, TC did a great write-up of LED brake lights. In the end, a panel LED put-out the brightest light. I put them in my car, and was not too impressed. Only one that impressed me were the white one's in the backup lights, and license plate.

They are a plug and play. I like the amount of light they put out especially the brake lights.

I use Sylvannia Silverstar Ultra H4's in my Toyota pickup and plan on using one in my XS. They are brighter than any other H4 bulbs I've used and are DOT compliant. They can potentially white-wash your night vision due to the very white beam vs the mellow yellow standard color. I haven't used one in an XS reflector yet, which is probably the weak point.

Disregard, missed pages 2, 3 and 4 of the thread. Thanks for the info on the LED headlight, been looking a them and wondering.

It's finally starting to warm up around here so I can ride soon. Still a little chilly after dark to go try out these Phillips bulbs.
