Mounted in my Windjammer and the amount of light is incredible.
Give us the details/pix of the mounting into your Special when done.

It is a direct replacement for the headlight.

Disassemble. Take glass out. Put LED headlight in place of glass. Plug in. Reassemble.

Question for you: Do you find yourself riding with the high beam a lot at night? I noticed in dark corners of freeway on-ramps, I have to turn it on. I added Cree LED riding lights, which has helped tremendously.

Does it work/interfere with the headlight warning light on the dash?

They are 4" square, 6-LED lights. Cannot remember the wattage on them. I mounted them with aluminum angle from work. Will take pics in the Spring after she is put back together.

I Paid $160.00 on E-bay with free shipping. The third picture is with the light on low beam and I'm standing back at the beginning of my driveway @ 54'. The light stretches across the entire front of the house. Makes it great for those rides on the country roads with minimal street lights as it more than covers the shoulders of both sides of the road.
Seems to work with the headlight warning light. I still have that slight glow of the light on the dash. I do have a slight flicker when on high beam at idle. Checked all connections and can't seem to track it down.

Hey Boone- I believe that flicker might be attributed to no/low charge at idle. All of our bikes do it with this LED headlight. I think it still does it using Geezer's R/R replacement. Only fault to the light so far, and mine is more expensive than the round headlight.

Have you driven with the new light at night? If so, have you had any reaction from oncoming traffic from other drivers? With the flickering at idle on high beam and the slight glow of the dash warning light, is it worth it to have the LED? Any regrets?

At that price.... it better last forever. The normal price was over $700.00. Even on sale it is $170.00. I too am advancing in age and more light is desirable, however I am of the opinion that I want to be able to just buy another bulb for whatever solution I have and I don't want that bulb to eclipse $25.00 to replace and I also want to be able to fix this problem quickly. This solution seems to give off quite a nice increase in light, however for your sake I hope it lasts forever.

The light output is comparable to HID, without the glare. The bulb is very focused. Looking at it oncoming, it's very unique. You'll see Jeeps and trucks with these bulbs. Light has a nice warranty on it. I assume thit'll last as-long as the bike.

Tuesday night I rode out to the City Hall Saloon in Cumberland, WA. About a thirty minute drive from Kent with half of it thru the back country between Kent and Enumclaw. Nobody flashed their high beam at me the entire trip, either in town or on the back-road. I can deal with the flicker at idle since I normally don't sit behind someone with my high beam on at a stop light. At highway speeds it goes away.
No regrets at all on this one for me. This is what I have been looking for for some time now. It is spendy but I feel I gain that back with the better visibility at night.
