  • XJ Wiring diagram

Does anyone have the XJ1100 service manual and a scanner? I'm looking for the wiring diagram for the XJ1100J. It would be great if someone could scan it and put it up for all to see...or just scan it and email it to me. Large file size is ok, but jpeg is probably the best format.

    email: groelzj(at)yahoo.com

    Thanks!

Not to be a spank, but most of the manuals are copyrighted. If something is out of print then I consider it "fair game" but I believe you can still buy those manuals (new) pretty cheap. It's an awfully good investment anyway!

      xj manuals

I have asked every bike shop around me for manuels on the xj.I am told by all of them that they did not make manuals for this bike. One place said oh ya we can get them ,when it arrived it was the xs man.(not xj specific) Does the guy with that cd still exsist here ? I'd like to get one. And is there a factory service man still available?(non clymer or haynes) Many thanks.

The factory service manual is still available, I believe. There was no Clymers or Hayes XJ-specific manual published. The CD is still available from Rocjok and is well worth the $10.00 price. A copy of the XJ wiring diagram (in .pdf format) is posted at:

Depending on how your browser is configured it will open or download the file.

Service manual carries a part number of LIT-11616-02-78. You can expect to pay $40 - $45 at most Yamaha dealers.

The Yamaha place here is not a Yamaha dealer, but a "Yamaha Authorized Dealer". That means they don't have access to the nationwide inventory of Yamaha stock. They told me that they couldn't get the manual for an XJ. I was under the impression that it was out of print. I've seen one on Ebay, but I had class 5 mins before the auction closed and lost it in the last 5 mins.

          Thanks guys!

You might want to check with Zanotti Motors, one of several XS/XJ-friendly dealers on the Sources page. I've delt with them several times over the last 4 years, always satisfied. No financial connection, blah blah blah....

If the factory manual is available they can get it for you.

Just curious, Hepcat, did you find your XS in Hawaii, or did you ship it over from the mainland?

I got my XJ in Honolulu. I bought it sight unseen on blind faith over the internet. The bike cost me $150 in nearly running condition. It had been sitting for a couple years and needed carb work and a few pieces stuck back on. The guy was gonna make it into a chopper but got stalled and SWMBO said it had to go. The bike was $150, getting it registered again was $150, Shipping it from island to island was $150, and he charged me $150 to hold onto it for 2 months and crate it up for shipment. All in all, I have about $800 into the bike with safety inspections, registration fees, fluids, brake parts, and all the little bits that go with restoring it to running condition.
