I was reluctant to ask but......

How do you guys know which wires are for what and proper fuses? Is it easy as looking up a wiring diagram? Or do I need to be an Electrical Engineer? I don;t want to trust the the PO has the correct fuses.

      Wiring diagram will tell you.

      MAIN -30A
      IGN -10A
      SIGNAL -20A
      HEAD -10A
      TAIL -10A

The small gauge wires are 10A.

VOM is the easy way if the wires are already loose. The MAIN is a larger wire, so that is easy. the rest can go to any fuse, as they all come from the ignition switch on one wire. You need to keep track of the wires FROM the fuses on out, but even that is easy. most of them start their color code from the box out, so you should know what goes to were.

The fat red wires are MAIN. The fat brown wires are SIGNALS. The brown input wires won't really matter if you mix them up as they're all 10A. The ones with 12V on them are inputs. The outputs, you'll need to figure out by using an ohm meter.

Or pull one fuse. See what goes out. That is what it is for.
