Your bike looks great, nice attention to detail !!!

My only small concern is the turnouts exiting onto your passengers feet, otherwise stellar job
1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
            1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
            1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
            1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
            1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

Much more than cleaning it was done a couple of years ago with the help of many of the guys here. Was looking the some old photo bucket photos and got a little nostalgic.

How did you get the engine so bright? Degreaser and a toothbrush? No really,...do tell. I just picked up a project that's in similar "before" condition. Thanks!

The engine was stuck when I got is so I had to disassemble the top end. While it was a part I put the head and cylinders in the dishwasher. Of course I did it when my wife was out shopping

I used a toothbrush also with simple Green and Ajax Dish soap.

I also used buffing kit you use with a drill. I got it at Home depot I believe it was made by Bosch.
Post some Pictures of your project.
As I had something apart I just polished it up before reinstalling.

By the way, all these parts are for sale. If any locals want to come take a look. Too heavy to ship. About 80% of a motor.

If the Pick up coils were working I'd be interested in them.

Got a new dishwasher and won't chance that grief
