I have a 79 special. Seems to have a slow leak at very top of fork, right side. Rather not tear down the front end without having the proper replacement parts on hand. You guys know what this could be. Thanks!!

There is an O-ring seal on the caps. Shouldn't be anything special.
Release the air pressure, unload the front wheel, and unscrew the cap and take it off. There is spring pressure behind it so be careful. Take the o-ring down to a hardware or auto parts and match it up.Greg

Where's the air valve ? Looks like there is just some sort of plug where the valve should be and red fluid around the cap (trans fluid) which is OK if the feel is good for you but you won't know until drain, refill with correct amount (I forget, you do have a manual ?) and get the air valve so you can adjust the air pressure too.76 XS650 C ROADSTER
