    new clutch cable

Broke my clutch cable and installed a new one (stranded cable type) Should I lubericate it with regular motor oil or do I have to go buy something fancy?

I used some Mobil 1 10/30 I had laying around. Motor oil is fine. I snipped the corner off a ziploc bag and ziptied the bag around the cable. Added enough oil to cover the end and hung it in the garage for a few hours.

Yes. New cables need to be lubed. Motor oil is fine.

MP makes a cable luber, along with "special" cable lube. I saw a Youtube video of a guy putting a piece of vinyl tube over one end of the cable, using a hose clamp to tighten the bottom, and squirting heavy duty lube into the top of the tube till it drained into the cable.
