  • installed new turn signals, not blinking now ???

Below is a link to the turn signals I bought. It's a single wire self grounding just like the originals. They are not LED....descriptions says 23 watt. They turn on but don;t blink. Anyone else update your lighting and have similar problem?
FYI - blinkers worked prior to.

    Thanks!

Do you still have the original OEM flasher in thin bike?

If so, the flasher is the problem. The OEM flasher is designed to use 27 watt bulbs, and does not like much deviation from that.

Change to a 2 prong electronic flasher and the problem will go away.

I think I figured it out by digging deeper. The stock bulbs are 27 watts and these are 23 watts. Now researching the fix....

Thanks Natemoen. Have a recommendation? Can I get them at local auto parts store like Pep Boys or Autozone?

Found that people are talking about a 552 2 prong flasher as the fix. My front and rear have all been replaced with the lower 23 watt bulbs. Do I need 1 flasher for each light? Does it just plug in line with the power line?

          Thanks

Under the right hand side cover is where the flasher relay is. if it is the stock flasher is is a 1" round cylinder about 2 inches long just below the fuse panel.

Auto parts stores carry lots of different flasher relays. Get yourself a NO LOAD flasher if you have any desire to in the future go to LED bulbs. If you do not thing you will go with LED then any 2 prong Electronic flasher will work.

The stock flasher is 3 prong but the third prong is for the auto cancel feature (which you will no longer have). So the new 2 prong flasher will fit in 2 ways. One way will work and the other way will not.

Easiest fix EVER. Bought a 552 flasher, plugged in where the other flasher was and viola! No splicing, crimping, soldering, etc. Thanks!!!!
