  • fuel line replacement

Hi got a 79 xs eleven special. Fuel lines are toast. Im attempting to replace with plastic fuel line but the little y fittings between the prime and on circuits are brittle and broke too. Anyone know of replacements? I got brass ones and thicker plastic house but its proving difficult to stuff it all in there due to they are much larger. Anyone know where to get the factory or close to factory Y taps and piping? My local Yamaha dealer is no help at all. Thanks

          BikerDave,
The brass ones are great. I use them and they do take more space. I did two things to alleviate the problem. I routed the lines from the right petcock to the left carburetors and the left petcock to the right carburetors. That helps a lot. Secondly, I used Motion Pro Premium fuel line that I believe is tygon. It's very flexible and stays that way.

Brass tees won't break of leak.

            piping?

I have always just gone to the cycle shop close by and bought the 1/4" fuel line. The shop I do business with keeps a supply of Honda tubing and it is great. Not clear but the original black tubing specifically designed for fuel and it is very flexible and does not kink.
