Great job restoring another XS to roadworthy condition...also a great gesture to give it to your son in law for his service to our country and for our freedom to ride,,, Thank him for that from me as well... oh and i love that Green paint...very nice

Added a graphic to the tank

Started with stencils (this is the sixth one)

Used 10 stencils each one for a different piece.

the rest of the work I did with a regular brush... all with rattle can paint.

The overspray came off with some wet sanding. I just need to pick up some 2 part clear that is more gas resistance than the what I can get at Autozone to seal it

Eastwood has a 2 part rattlecan clear I will be trying early next year. I have the paint, as it's the ONLY one CA will allow! The paint I wanted to use cannot be used or shipped to CA....
Here is the link to the paints: http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-s-2...oss-clear.html. good luck, and the project is looking nice.

          Manufacturer can't

sell or ship to CA but if you buy it and send it to someone out of state and they send it to you via UPS what are the odds that the eco nazi's will detect it?

I was going to do that, but decided that the 2 part clear should keep the paint looking good for a few years. I'm going to be selling the '79 when I'm done anyway, as I need to room to work on the '78.

I just went to the local auto paint store and picked up a can of 2 part clear gloss $20 and I didn't have to wait for shipping. It applied nicely, little to no orange peal. Once I buff it I will be done... except for the saddle bags I still need to paint them.
