You did the carb cleaning x 1 now...Anyways, we have found that most folks would do a cursory cleaning, not work, then perform a second slightly more involved cleaning, still not clean enough, and then have to do a 3rd tear down, and more thorough cleaning/soaking and brushing of parts and spritzing of the passages before they finally get the carbs cleaned enough to work right=Triple clean!
Actually I was confirming that I performed a triple clean as you described it. I went all OCD on it and made the thing sparkle.Soaking, spritzing, soaking again The weird part is that as I stated previously it really wasn't that dirty to begin with, compared to some of the pictures I've seen. The thing looked brand new.

Thats the jet underneath the flat head screw next to the main jet correct? if so yes I cleaned and soaked those.

I learn something new everyday thanks!

Sorry, but NO..the jet under the screw in the carb body is the PILOT JET.

There's a little jet down in the actual BOWL of the carb, that's why that long brass tube sticks out of the body, it fits down into the small tunnel in the bowl, where it's supposed to suck up fuel from the bowl THRU the little jet in the bowl. If it's clogged, then the starter jet can't get any fuel and so the enrichener won't work, no large bolus of fuel to start a cold engine.

Can take a small wire to poke thru the opening in the jet in the bowl along wtih repeated spritzes of carb cleaner....just be careful not to squirt yourself in the eye when it blows back out of the bowl!!

Ok I know exactly what your talking about, I did spritz it but didn't give it the wire treatment I will try that this weekend, thanks!

And make sure battery is charged to 12v - when below 10.5 v it cranks but the TCI will not fire - if you have been diagnosing a bunch it can get low.

I have been keeping an eye on that. It's been a consistent 12v throughout the trials
