    u-joint

IM babying my bike through the rest of our riding season with what im pretty sure is a u-joint on its way out...i cant find much info when i search so has anyone tried putting the joint from a datsun b 210 on there bike?

is it easy to install? does it work well? should i avoid the joint with the zerk fitting?

i thought about a used one from e bay but not sure about putting what might be another tired joint on my bike...

    thanks fellas

    Hey there,

Well, if you had searched for u-joint, you would have seen this recent thread... http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread...hlight=u-joint however, it doesn't have u-joint in the thread title, but it's all about it, repairing, etc.!

im curious about replacing the joint itself...like how its done on a car

is it easy and worth doing...or should i look for a new used joint...

You can press the u-joint cross out of the yoke, it's not really difficult. You do have to be careful and make sure that you don't bend the ears on the yoke or the u-joint won't go back in and it won't last very long if it does.

Ah! Here you go! I found a good tutorial thread with pictures:-
