  • Needles, and needle jet replacement

I have searched high and wide for these for the 1980 MNS, but without any luck. Wrote to Jets R Us, and was informed they didn't list anything. Waiting to hear from Mikuni on it. Has anyone had to replace them, because of wear? If i had a 79 E, or F, they are available. If you have found a supplier for these,
    please let me know.

    Thank you

I'm working on duplicating some via CNC but it's been a while and slow going. If successful, I will incorporate the 78-79 c-clip adjustments in the 80+ needles... Don't know of any source to buy new needles or emulsion tubes for any of the years..

The link below is for a complete 2H9 Carb Rack Kit. Could use it with the proper float valves.

As far as the K&L kits go, i will never order anything from that brand again. Last shot cost me almost $100.00, and George fix was no help in sending the right stuff, and was not the least bit interested in hearing that the parts listed would not work. The kits from Europe, no way of knowing if the parts are right. Those kits i have found only for the 1979 E, and F. I have lived with the problem for more than three years, so i guess it will be that way until it is not mine anymore.

Just a follow-up on the K&L kits. I did use the needles/seats, as well as the slide needle. I replaced the jets (pilots and mains) w/ genuine Mikuni's, and now she runs like a dream. Don't blame you for shying away from the kits, though, just giving my experience.

                XS1100 Newbie,

What is the problem with the kit you installed? I.E, I assume the bike doesn't run correctly, do you mind sharing what it is?

jets were wrong size, and the air fuel adjusting screw was different length, and taper. I was able to use the gasket, and the needle and seat however. I just gave the rest to a friend of mine who works on bikes. He may come across something they will work in. Don't have any idea what they fit, just not my 80 MNS. Like i said, George fix was not interested in hearing the kit wasn't right. I was in retail parts for 30 years, and never gave a person that bad of customer service. Done with him, and K&L.
