intermittent brake lights

I have determinned that I have a bad alternator which will soon be replaced. Wondering if that would have any effect on brake lights. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. I would assume it's probably just a bad connection somewhere - that will be fun to track down.

any thoughts?

Is it the same intermit problem with both the front and back brake levers? If so check the bulb holder socket for corrosion and clean accordingly. Also replace bulb.1157 is stock bulb.

I think it is the same with both levers now that you mention it. The bulb thing makes sense. Will have to check that.

I don't currently have the front brake switch hooked up though - it broke when I pulled it out to work on the master cylinder.
