  • 1980 XS1100LG Mixture Screws Needed...

    Hello all,

I'm in need of a set of the carb mixture screws for a 1980 XS1100LG.

Three were no trouble to remove, but one is damaged from the extraction process.

I received one from Mike's XS and it's really close but the end is tapered rather than straight...(not Mike's fault as he wasn't sure).

Does anyone know the part number?

    Thanks in advance.

How damaged? If it was just the screwdriver slot, that's easily fixable.
Grind top of mix screw flat, Dremel a new slot across top.
81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

      These should work

However you have to buy the whole kit. He sells them in packs of four and the price is not that bad. You probably would want to replace the o rings anyway.

I would just clean most of the original parts and reuse those and maybe just use the idle mixture screws and possibly the float needles if needed. The rest can be easily cleaned.

          Grab

All 4 so that you can get the o rings too.

            Many, Many Thanks!

Thanks for the speedy replies....and thanks for the links....

I ended up buying just one on eBay...I already had ordered the new washers and o-rings...

After the transmission work (flipped the bike), second gear washer swap-machine to use two washers, one new second gear, one new first gear and a couple of good used gears and replacing the bent shifting forks, I'm almost ready to start up the beast...

I thought I would be able to buy the 4th wheel and although it is listed on some sites as "available", it is NOT...

I used the 5th gear from my transmission (I can't believe how rounded the dogs were) as an experiment in "refacing", but it would take a steadier hand than mine to "freehand" it.

I spoke with a machinist who thought he could TIG weld new surfaces on the dogs and then machine them to mated angles, but that will be only if the new and used gear combination does not work...but I'm optimistic.

This site has been invaluable to me in getting my bike up and on the road again...Many, many thanks to all of the experts here....

            Best regards,
