  • This style windshield for my 80 XS11 Special

Has anyone installed or found a windshield like this design that will fit our bikes? I am after one for roadtrips and my little Spitfire just isn't the look I'm after. I'm into the cruiser style look.

Have you looked at the PlexiFairings? A little different but similar.

      HD-0: Mini Police

This one has the look you're after, but it's quite small. I'm not aware of another that readily fits the XS1100 Special. Slipstreamer's application guide shows only this one in the style you're after.

National Cycle does not offer one for the XS1100 Special.

        do a search on Ebay

I have found several in that design on Ebay. I have not purchased one yet so I can not comment on fitment, however like you that is the design I am leaning towards if I do go with a shield.

That's HD-0. The same one I linked. It's the one you want. My link is the manufacturers website, not necessarily the best place to buy it.

Thanks Cajun and JetMech, that one IS a little small. Gonna keep looking, even if I have to buy the size I want and make my own mounts.

Thanks for the info Vedgar, but I actually have an original Yamaha fairing just like that, and it's not the look I'm after. I really like that harley look.

In this style Memphis Shades offers nothing in universal fit and nothing for the XS1100.

                          Hi Courtney,
If you are will to make your own mounts and modify the windshield some...Best wind protection in that style that I have tried is one that fits a Harley Dyna convertable. I Put an aftermarket plexiglas one on my 80 XS1100 special. Headlight opening in windshield was for 5" light, so I cut plexiglass off in between center chrome. Longer lower curved bottom of windshield makes good wind protection, better than on my stock HD road King..

                          Good luck wrenching,

What kind of shield is that? Do you have a part number and manufacturer? That is what I am looking for. I would like to get that and have the chrome powder coated mirror black to match my bike. That would look good I think.
