  • Need some quick help

    Hi guys,

I added LED turn signals to my 82 XJ1100 and now I get solid lights and no flash. I understand that the LED's don't draw enough to make the stock flasher unit work. So, I got an electronic flasher unit made to work with LED's. Still not working.

I need to make sure I'm dealing with the right flasher unit here. Can anyone with an XJ1100 take a picture of the turn signal flasher unit on their bike and the wiring harness it's attached to?

I would REALLY appreciate it! It's a beautiful day and I'd like to be able to ride safely!

    Thanks in advance!

Look at the wiring diagram for the flasher and then the bike. On my XS I had to reverse 2 wires in the flasher plug to get mine to work. Not sure on the XJ.

I would, but I'm not even sure if I'm working with the right flasher. I think I'm playing with the hazard flasher right now. I can't seem to locate or identify the turn signal flasher. That's why I need the picture to help locate it.

I thought maybe someone on here that knows their XJ1100 well would be able to post a picture or two and point out the flasher unit for me.

The turn signal flasher should be just under and to the left of the fuses IIRC

          Follow-up:

OK, I'm an idiot! I was on the wrong side of the bike and changing the hazard relay and not getting anything....duh!

Found the flasher relay, swapped it with one from www.customLED.com
Works perfectly and the flash rate is perfect!

If you have any issues and need help with LED's, I would highly recommend the guys at Custom LED. They are awesome and helped me figure it out!

Thanks for all the input guys! It's a beautiful sunny day and I'm off for a ride!
