Wiring :| Installing new bucket w integrated turn signals..which wires go where??

Ok so I have removed the giant fairing off my bike. I bought an aftermarket LED headlamp bucket, which has turn signals integrated into the headlight. I have a couple comments/issues:

1. I would give a link to the assembly I bought, but it sucks. Cheap plastic bucket made in China. $50. boo. The turn signals are not yellow, which I am going to try to apply w tape. Open for suggestions on this.

2. I do not think my relay works, since I can't get the voltmeter to pulse not can I get the blinkers to blink in any configuration.

3. Wiring wiring wiring. So there are three wires associated with each turn signal: RED,GREEN & BLACK. There are two wires coming from the bike, per signal. The left has a BLUE &GREEN and the right has BROWN & GREEN. Where do these wires go?

2). What relay are you talking about? Are you talking about the flasher?

3)The turn signals on the bike one is a brown wire and the other is a green wire (i don't remember witch is right and which is left but it is only one wire to each turn signal). The blue wire is the running lights, so that should run to each housing.

I am talking about the turn signal relay, since the blinkers do not blink. Do these often malfunction?

So the wires...are they coupled together? There are two pairs of wires coupled together. One on the left side and one on the right side.

If you still have the stock flasher then it will absolutely not work with any LED turn signals. Do not throw it away though, they are special flashers and someo e here could use it. You will need to find a NO LOAD electronic flasher, make sure it specifies no load.

No the wires should not be connected together. The blue is for running lights, if you no longer have running lights just cap the blue wire and leave it alone. The brown and the green are all you need for the turn signals (and a ground of course). One of the wires goes to each side.

Oh, and personal opinion if that light.

Those turn signals are worthless. They cannot be seen at all. When was the last time you looked directly at someone's headlight.....

Looks like the headlight cuts off when the turn signals come on....how I don't know?? But I agree with you in that one, they are WHITE, people are accustomed to seeing YELLOW turn signals, especially on the front.

XXV, The item description says a LOAD RESISTOR may be required....which further proves they are LEDs with very little amp load, and that's why the Thermal OEM flasher relay will not cycle. As mentioned, you'll need a fully electronic no load dependent type flasher unit 2 prong, and you will loose your self cancelling feature.

However, as has been noted, IF the headlight doesn't automatically turn off, and even when it does, those signals will still be difficult to see or recognize as turn signals by most motorists. BTW, have you seen the tip in the MISC forum about why we motorcyclists are essentially invisible? After reading it you might change your mind about using SMALL sized turn signals.

You could still attach some YELLOW bullet or arrow shaped signals/stalks to the side of the headlight ears, and being LED, you could easily run both them and the built in headlight signals at the same time. JAT.

Yup....the load was the factor. I bought a cheap 2-prong relay from the auto parts store and installed it in lieu of stock relay. The signals now blink...in fact the relay is so loud it sounds like a Buick.
Yes, I will have to find some orange tape for the signals and am also thinking of switching to some standard signals instead of the LED in the ne of safety.
