  • 1978E Stock

This is supposed to be a stock 1978E. And it may well be. Look at it and tell me if anything looks non-stock. I do not see anything, but maybe someone will????

    Just curious.

      Hey Mike,

From this angle it's hard to tell, but the mufflers don't look like the stock megaphone....they look more like a trumpet flare...but the headers look right.
The handlebars don't looke quite right....look like a straight "V" type shape instead of the lower "U" type shape?? The right shock upper mount bolt looks way too long?? That's about all I can see that looks ODD...aside from the bent left front turn signal, and I can't see the horns.

        1978E Stock

Two more of the same bike. Mentioned so far are the mufflers and handle bars being suspect. Also, I believe this bike has a luggage rack and those long nuts/bolts on the rear shocks may be the hardware for that.

Can anyone tell what the mufflers may have come off of?

......Yeppers, those are Jardine slip-ons. Got a brand new set still in the box and original packaging for an 80 Standard with the cross-over and baggie of bolts/hardware. Since coming across a NOS set complete with heat shields that came off the shelf and not a bike some yrs. back, doubt if I'm gonna utilize the Jardines at this point.

"Just Looking" right now. Owner thinks everything is stock and most of it appears to be but for mufflers and maybe handle bars.
