just picked up a 79 special and it doesn't seem to be charging...anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be...I have no clue where to start...all the wiring seems to be stock and not all butchered like usual....thanks in advance

First place to start if the larger wgite plug behind the fuse block. It comes from the generator and often gets dirty and melts the plug. Open it up and clean and pack it with dielectric grease or replace the plug of needed.
