  • Foot Pegs

I"m looking to upgrade to footpegs on my 79 Special and while I've found some options while looking through the site and the internet I wanted to ask some questions and see if there wasn't any other options.

I will start by saying I have no interest in installing any variation of the stock rubber pegs.

I'm looking at these XS foot peg adapters and want to know if anyone has used them. Are they good for the front or the back? I know they have 2 different setups and I find it hard to believe they will work for both.

I also found some metric adapters made by Kuryakyn...they just don't make them for this application. Has anyone looked at the measurements of the ones they make to see if they would work for either the front or back on the XS?

If all else fails I guess I can just have something made...
    Any advise is appreciated.

I'm confused then. Why are you looking at adapters if you want to stick with stock pegs? The adapters are so you can use other aftermarket pegs.

I know what they are for...that's why I said I have NO interest in installing any variation of the stock rubber pegs.

I figured I could cut out any reply suggesting them as a solution. (I also love my pod filters and don't want to get into a debate about them, lol!)

The adapter by Scootworks should fit the front rest. I'll measure the XS650 and XS1100 rests to be sure.

Is there something in particular you're looking for? There's a lot out there for XS650.

Ideally I would like to get an adapter for both the front and back so I have flexibility moving forward and can swap them out as my needs/style changes.

I figure if we can get a definitive answer on the right set(s) of adapters then the world is our oyster and almost any pegs you like can easily be put on the bike.

The hard part I've found is that nobody lists the adapter dimensions since if you had them you could just have them made.

I just scrutinized both bikes, and as best I can tell, the XS1100 and XS650 rests will interchange. Those XS650 adapters are going to fit the XS1100.

For the rear, you can buy any number of foot rests, as they mount with a stud.
