    Mirror thread size

What size thread are the mirrors on the 79 xs1100

Are they standard for all bikes or are there different threads?

    Thank you,

    Steve

I don't recall the bolt size or thread pitch right off but you need to keep in mind that the right hand mirror is left hand thread.

I did realize that they were different, just looking for some replacements and found some I like, but didn't know the thread size.

Looks like most I am looking at are either 8mm or 10mm.

Is that standard for all bikes?

        Hey, Steve -

The thread size should be 10mm and the pitch 1.25 ... but, as Greg said, the right hand mirror is reverse threaded.

I think it's m-10, I'm thinking the coarse thread. Left mirror right thread, right mirror, left thread ( depending on perspective I think) I wanna say 1.0 or 1.25 on thread pitch. I can never remember with metric threads which is coarse vs fine. Hope that helps, vague as it is. Have a nice day and ride safe

Any of THESE will fit. Take your pick.

THIS is what I use. I like the looks and it doesn't break my heart if I break one.
