missing on middle 2 cyls.when wet

washed my ride the other day and when done it would run but only on cyl1and 4

let it sit for a couple days and she fired right up and seems fine now...any ideas on the cause of this?

Well....main plug-in behind fuse panel would be suspect along with a coil connection or fractured housing of a stock coil you'll never see with the naked eye.

+1 on the plug for the pick up coils behind the fuse panel.

Pull that plug apart and fill the open cavity (the spade side) with dielectric grease and squeeze the connector back together and the grease will be forced out the plugs around the wires.

Then take your seat off, take the tank off and turn it around and hook the gas back up, and start the engine. Take a spray bottle of water, hell, you might as well put some Simple Green or equivilant in the water and kill another bird, and spray the coils and wires with water, and see if the 2-3 coils cuts out. When done, wash the valve covers off, rinse well, and re-install the tank and seat.

Are there any splices in the harness coming from the pick-up coils? I used to have issue with spliced in that harness under the left side of the engine.
