  • I win !!!!!!!

thanks for all the support i got from here..i FINALLY got my bike running

i put about 50 miles on today and it ran sweet...

fastest speed was right at 7800 r.p.m. not sure how fast that is but it was fun as hell

still need to do a few minor adjustments and another oil change just to make sure everything is flushed out

i find i have a hard time getting the clutch all the way in when i shift...it dont seem to like that much..seems a little clunky when i shift wrong..i tend to shift like im on a mx bike

is there a pictural on here ar s thread about fixing the broken tab on the bottom of the left side cover??

thanks again to everyone for all the help and patience....

    WAY TO GO BILL!

You'll learn how to ride this one. The transmission is clunky and you have to shift it in a manly way. Did all the gears hold good under heavy throttle?

Don't know about the 7800 tach reading but if it's running right and you topped it out in 5th you were probably about 110 - 115.

im gonna be a little careful with shifting first to second...not ready to tear back into it

other wise i gassed it pretty hard in all the other gears and everything held up just fine

i really like messin around in 2nd at about 4500 rpm.

80 mph is 5300aprox rpm so its not what id call a great interstate long distance ride

60 to 70 on the highways is awsome

got to ride with my a hole brother again today for the firts time in way over 20 years...

made us both feel young again

        Hi wjw,
I disagree. Any bike you can ride 1000 miles in a day and get off and walk into the house is a good long distance bike IMHO

              Greg,

I'm pretty sure Bill is talking about the tab (that latches) on the bottom of the locking left side cover (the one that always gets broken off) ...

That's why I directed him to the above threads ...
