Took my Xs to the track a few weeks ago. It ran a 7.46 at 93. Is that good? bad?
Just curious as to what other members have run.

Wouldn't know, as I've just run the REAL 1320 somes yrs. back with my Venturer. Figured at 5,000ft. the mid to high 13's and final low 14 having the clutch turn loose mid-way into third was respectful. Of course, it's all about react and 60ft. times. Being out of practice from extensive bracket and heads-up racing decades ago with a cage, I finially did cut a .40 lite.

      Hey Speedmoto,

Wow....93mph at the 1/8th is good. I ran mine at the local 1/4 strip years ago, but had problems getting off the line....was still spring time=cool weather, and bulky gloves. My bike has 4" over length front forks, and I had a front end wreck years earlier that reduced my trail from 6" to only ~2", so that also raised the front of the frame quite a bit, and so it had a tendency to wheelie fairly easily! On my second run, I tried to rev it a bit more and feather the clutch, couldn't feel/tell how much I had let out, was starting to move/pull out, and so I dumped the clutch while still at 5k rpm, pulled the front wheel almost perpendicular , was able to wrestle it back down, but had poor time. My best run was about 14.9 IIRC!

Now, to your run.....93 mph at end of 1/8th....that leaves 660 feet to make a 1/4 mile. Maintaining 93 mph....is running 136.4 feet a second, divide that into the remaining 660 feet is 4.83 seconds to finish that 1/8th. Granted, you might be able to accelerate a little more in that 1/8th, but not sure how much? So....the initial 7.46 seconds plus 4.83 is 12.23 seconds which is very respectable.! The Racer that ran the original first XS11 for Yamaha was able to get the 1/4 mile ET below 12 seconds....hence the bikes name XS11 for a 1/4 mile in ~11.## seconds......not for the 1100 cc's!!!!!

My intent was to beat up on it pretty good with full throttle speed shifts to make sure the gear-dogs overhaul was a make, not a break. I figured the four runs I did was a reasonable test. BTW, those were done in 'full dress' form having tallest vented Wing shield on. Can feel that fairing/shield starting to fight back mid-way through third before hitting the 85mph redline point.

Was a hoot! A early Friday nite 'test and tune' session. A young guy there, ridin' a lengthened swing-arm Busa, who I was aquainted with ended up besides me 3 out of the four runs. He was playin' with mid-high tens........till later that nite when he REALLY twisted it to IIRC a 9.2@164mph. Not bad @5000ft. elev. Testin'/tunin' for Denver's Bandimere track, which he regularly won the bracket racing.

The fun part in payback harrassment was the second run aside him, must of caught him 'sleepin' at the lites cause he got 'tree'd' to the 60ft. by an ole 81' original Venturer in the worst way.

Great fun, with reminders of why I did this decades ago buildin' racin' with a little winnin' thrown in,, the ole' muscle cars.
