    1982 Maxim 1100

I need to upgrade the tires on my ride and was wondering if any one knew what the maximum width that would fit on the bike was? (both front and rear)

You should stick to the 100/90-19 front, although a 110 might fit. On back the stock size is 130/90-16, but a 140/90-16 black wall will fit. The raised white wall versions in the larger size will rub on the swng arm, particularly under load or in a turn.

Not a lot of sizes to choose from for the XJ, or the XS for that matter.

Hey Jerry thanks alot for the info, that was sure quick. I will take you advice and stick to the stock size or just one larger. Thanks again for your help.

        Tire Size

Hey tgoodall Have a 84 XJ ( Canadan ) Put 110- 90 - 19 on front, seems to track better. Will know better when snow stops. Have a 130-90- 16 on rear . It runs real close to swing arm. Someone on the site put a 140-90-19 with good results. My tires are Bridgestone Spitfire 11F & 11Rs. bkr
