  • spark and slight smoke near battery when starting

hey everyone. Pa winter was hard on bike, couldn't get out to start. treated fuel with stabil and some marvel, ran thru carbs before putting away. now, after fully charging and after having battery checked, I set choke to full but bike will crank nice but no start, not even a cough. ALSO, which worries me, when cranking starter(not for long periods either), will see silver spark and wisp of smoke that looks to be coming from near positive battery terminal? not sure what to do. Any help greatly appreciated.

Might oughta' remove and clean some connections(battery, batt. to solienoid, batt. to ground, and likely ALL electrical plug-ins on bike. That all important smoke escaping from that area is just a preliminary warning as to the likely cond. of other electrical connections.

      Fuse?

      IGN fuse corroded?

Sometimes the glass fuses even corrode inside.

      Just another suggestion.
