I've gotten a few PMs and several notes in threads about guys wanting a set of the choke detent springs/balls. I just went out and dug my 'supply' out of where it was hidden in the shop, and as of right now, I only have enough balls for three sets... but I can get more, it'll just take a bit of time (2-3 weeks to me). I still have bunches of springs (once I cut them to length...). I'm posting this here so I don't have to 'hunt' for the various requests.
IF YOU WANT A SET OF THESE, SEND ME A PM FOR PAYMENT INFO! NOT A 'VISITOR' MESSAGE!
$5 for a set of two including postage, Paypal will be easiest but a mailed MO will work too. I will note that I don't get mail delivery to my house but have to drive some distance to get it, and being retired (not going to work everyday) I don't pick up my mail more than 3-4 times per month, so if you use the mail some delays may ensue... Keep in mind that I don't mail stuff any oftener, so it may be a week or so before I make it to the PO.
These aren't 'unobtainium' like the rear wheel bearings that James seems to keep finding, they're still available from Yamaha on special order (at $20 for a set) but mine are far cheaper. I'll note that if your choke linkage is working freely like it should, one spring/ball probably won't have enough tension to keep the choke 'on', which is why Yamaha fitted two. The second spring also keeps the choke shaft from vibrating and excessively wearing the holes in the carb bodies, so don't try to 'get away' with just one.
I'll send out what I have on a first come, first serve basis (payment received), I'll buy more balls to fill any additional requests...
