  • Hey guys!

Long time no talk! I've still been browsin around but not much to say. I took a rider course last weekend for the M-class license and got the bug to immediately start workin on my bike! I ended up deciding to just start with the mint special I picked up over the winter, kinda changed plans from going for the café look for the bobber style. So after tearing everything out here's where she sits! Put a buddy's drag bars on for now just to see how it looked. I think after chopping the rear section and adding the same buddy's bobber seat and fender it's lookin pretty sharp already!

I wanna do something kinda different and my favorite color is lime green so I think I might end up painting the frame and maybe the cylinder jugs the green and the rest black. What do you guys think? Don't hate me too much!

Don't forget about the "roads" that are in your area! I've been on them, and no rear suspension is HARD on the body! You can go for a 10.5" rear shock with heavy springs to lower the rear, and still keep your kidneys. I'm not fond of green, but it's NOT my bike, so GO FOR IT! I think it will look different, and probably nice.

      New build

I like new builds. These bikes are a blast to sit back and design new builds on. So many different ways to take them. There beautiful stock too. Go for it and hack. Hak.

Looks hopeful. Blood, sweat and tears, plus some cash, should sort it out!

This was just a joke lol I was hoping to get some of the old timer's all worked up about hacking up that pristine bike I picked up over the winter. But I appreciate knowing that I will have support no matter what route I take! Haha. The mint special I got is going to stay stock and I'm going to start tearing down the one I picked up with the venturer tank on it. Build thread and pics will start popping up in a few weeks!

When I thought of that pristine Special facing destruction, I had to put those feelings away. You seem a nice enough fellow and it's your bike, so I keep my mouth shut. I was 20 years old when Specials were hitting the streets and I thought they were the be all, end all. "Look at that fat back tire!" I used to say. Why do you think there are so many more Specials than standards out there? I'm sure I'm not the only one your prank got through to.

When the motorcycle is parked on the sidestand and the bars turned to the right, the master cylinder is perfectly level. At least, it is on mine.

It gets to be troublesome when you replace the bars with one not so Special.
