Its true looking over your shoulders is always a good idea, being aware of which cagers are getting too close, here we call that look over the shoulder "the life saver"

I have mirrors, their main use is keeping an eye on the traffic cops, when you ride fast you have to.

Ahhhh...to be young, invincable, and know everything again. There is an old saying that people do not know what they do not know. The meaning being that there is a world of knowledge you do not know exist since you do not know about it. And you will probably read this and think it is all BS, proving the theory.

And yes, at least a mirror is required by law in many of the US states. Denying there effectiveness is about the same as denying your peripheral vision is of any use.

You might try the XJ mirrors.

Rectangular and fairly large with good adjustability.

Wait....did you just compare mirrors to peripheral vision dgsxer? I already said I turn my head. What more do u want haha. No but really you guys should calm down on the age thing. You guys only talk about my age in every post you make towards me...I'm starting to detect a HINT a jealousy there. "I go fast and I'm young, so I must be dumb". Well I guess so James since I don't even know how twitter works....I'm surprised you do, trying to get in touch with your young inner spirit? In all seriousness, you all have a reputation on other forums to be pretty dickish, but we know the value of your collected knowledge. Just cow manure to fertilize your thoughts.

I'll speak my mind here without necessitating the need for moderator intervention. Murphyslaw- Your first post was one speaking of some mod of some variety, expressing that it couldn't be done against the opinion of purists. Kinda brash & cocky. Second, even if your sig did not display your age, your maturity level in your posts might have given it away. Third, I have more motorcycles than your age, and belong to a gazillion forums, including the sister Triples forum. Nowhere have I ever seen the XS11.com community bashed- EVER! We're a family of XS11 riders, and try our best to respect each other. If you feel that your opinion is not being respected, step back and think of your posts come off wrong. If not, utilize the PM system and contact the offending member. But, disrespecting the community will not get you far on here.

You wanna see immaturity, go back and read some of my threads on how impatient I was, leading to bent valves. It was this very forum that has allowed me to mature, and I transfer that to other aspects of my life. So, step back a little and enjoy the forum.
