  • Mirror Upgrade

So, I searched on here, and will search again after I post this. I never understood why Yamaha put round mirrors on a square-themed bike, and vice-versa on the Special. Well, I was looking at a pic of the completed bike from the back, and the round mirrors look goofy. On-top of that, they're almost useless with the Superbike bars. I'd probs have to use mirror extenders.

So, I saw (Phil?) posted about Yamaha Royal Star Venture mirrors as a fit for left-handed thread fit. Anywho, anything else fit that looks well, sporty, but not plastic? Chrome or black, doesn't matter.

Yes, but the opening to the garage is too small for bar-end mirrors. Maybe mirrors off a special?

Kinda ironic statement to make coming from a guy who's user name is "Murphyslaw", ehh? Lol, jk. Mirrors are wayyyy too valuable not to use.

That was the first thing I changed on my standard in '79. Went with the square mirrors. The round mirrors gave a great view of my arms but little else. How do you like that LED headlight?

Well my trucks named Murphy and I used to be in the criminal justice field. I don't use mirrors because I'm always looking around and behind me. Come to sacramento and you'll understand that being completely aware of your surroundings is imminent to your good health. Cages try to kill me on a daily basis and mirrors will not change that. Besides "if something bad can happen it will happen" does not say unless you have mirrors haha. But good call.

Yeah that's true. You old guys are all...."traditional" haha. Don't start the age-ist bs. I was a mechanic for 5 years and worked for multiple operations including nissan, drove a modified class 355 chevy race car, and I was capable of making my way through a California sheriff's academy. My age does not limit me or my capability to comprehend how mirrors work. But I'm prob. Much more stylish haha. Jk.

Actually, I agree with Mikubuilder. When we're young, we take risks that you probs would not take when older. Make bad decisions you would not make when older. Of course, this is all dependent on the "maturity with age" variable.

I see what ur saying "Murphyslaw", as I am always looking around. But, I disagree if you believe mirrors are not a 100% aid in riding. They give you information without having to turn over your shoulder. You having a CJ background should know that info attained with ease isnicer than having to work hard for it, i.e. (looking over your shoulder constantly).

And, thanks Greg. I'll look at those some more.
