Heres another question..Are the Handle bars suppose to be black or chrome?
MNS bars are supposed to be black. It's called black chrome. The same color as the exhaust system.

I don't think that one will fit Schming. Its a standard cover off of a Venturer.

Well, it ain't that new, it has scratches in the paint, deep ones. So $120 seems like highway robbery to me. Don't get in to big of a hurry and you will be able to find a good left side cover for less than $50 I am certain.

              Bars

Yes the handlebars were black chrome. If you paint them, remember that the bars provide the ground for the bar mounted swithes so you need to leave the spots under the clamps bare.

                120 dollar side cover????

The cover would fit however a couple of things I noticed. The four holes you see in it should not be there for a MNS of any year. The side cover emblems for the MNS just stick on they do not go through the covers. The inside of the cover is also missing the storage compartment, which is useful for storing paper work such as registration etc.... I think 120 is rather steep and you can probably hold out for a better deal. Probably even find one off an 81 MNS eventually. I wish you the best with this bike and hopefully you will get it back in near mint condition so that you can ride it and think of your loved one for many years to come.

... Then again, you may go a few years before finding another unbroken cover...

I'll agree, $120 is steep, but NOS parts are rarely found for bargain prices.

                      Hi Kelly,
I read your other posts before I opened this one, so sorry to hear about your dad.
About the bars, the new MNS photos posted here show them having black chrome bars.
However, the stock bars are an extreme example of bad ergonomics so most folks change them out for bars of a better shape.
Most bar shapes can be gotten in black chrome, my SG is currently wearing black chrome CB750 bars.
