  • luggage rack options?

Ok, so I got my 81H and it came without a rack.
I've been searching and trying to figure out what is available out there.
I've got a trunk that came with the deal, but alas, no rack to mount it to.
The trunk has the back rest pad, so I don't need a rack with an adjustable back rest, though that wouldn't stop me if the price was right.
So, in my searching I've figured out that the stock accessories from mother Yammie were just a few.

These first 2 are for the standards. (one with and one without backrests)
    ACC-11110-97-00

    ACC-11160-00-00

Then I guess the specials got a little different mounting due to the grabrail and rear brake light.

    ACC-11160-10-00

I didn't know this about the specials, cause on my SG, I must have got an aftermarket rack. I had a hell of a time getting my Shoei bags mounted on.

    Hi George,
The first two look about right. Mine has a differnet back rest so there is atleast one more oprtion and I think there is a so called tall as well.
    Good luck in your quest.

The taller tapered slide-in/adjustable backrest with the zippered case on back was OEM for the 81H. The lower backrest fit into the trunk recess, both optional from Yammy Accessories. Have both my original and the optional lower one. The latter is in use with the tail trunk.

Are you looking for one for a standard? If so I have one at the house I'm interested in getting rid of. It came with a parts bike and won't fit my 80 special. It looks like the first one and has the bolt on backrest.

            Rear Rack

            Hi George,

The adjustable rack I have listed in the for sale section will fit your bike.

            Here's the link: http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41493

            PM me if your interested.

              Hi Maximphil,
The short optional backrest would be the second pic in GloweVA's post. The one in the pic of the bike would be the taller original one.

I figured out a little more info:
Thanks to BigOates and his pics of his rack/backrest up for sale.

For the first pic I posted, there is an additional (nonadjustable) backrest that bolts on.

                ACC-11110-90-00

For the adjustable ones, I guess there's 2 to choose from:
                ACC-11110-90-50 (short, no pocket)

                ACC-11160-01-00

and the taller (with pocket) one that comes with this rack:

These are the only pics I can find so far.

Of course this is just the stock options, there were aftermarket ones that are out there that were either made specifically for the XS11 or have adjustable mounting brackets that bolt up just fine. (Example: the vetter bags/ racks)

I've been watching a few on Ebay, but with my current budget, they are a little out of my price range right now. (the wife says: "do you need it for the bike to run?" I have to say: "no, but I want it")

Well if you want it, I'll let mine go for $50 plus shipping, or if you have a special backrest/rack I'll trade you straight up. It's got some pitting on the underside, but should clean up well. (Also if anyone has a special rack for sale I'd be interested).

So, what do you want? I'm not reading all this to find out. I have a couple in the shed. Pretty sure they are standards. one is NOS. Neither are adjustable.

Funny timing. I was just looking back at some older threads and saw that you had 2 (1 NOS) and was wondering if you still had them.

                      What do I want....?
I want a rack to mount my trunk on. I've got the bags mounted, and need to complete it.

I don't need the back rest, just the rack. The trunk has a back pad on it. (not that the wife will ever ride on the back anyway.)

Unfortunately, SWMBO has some dental issues that sprang up and money is real tight right now.
