I contacted the Ebay seller I purchased the bearings from. They are sending me new bearing, no cost to me, I do not need to send this one back first or anything. So, in a few days I should have another bearing, hopefully a good one, and be back on track to remount the front wheel. By then the rear wheel should be on. Need to get a battery and get the brake systems filled and bled.

This beast may just be ready for its inaugural run by next Thursday when temps should be hitting 60 deg here!!

Trying to get this new seat mounted so I can ride next week too! Should be about 47-50 degrees here. She's been itching to get out.

Any update on how this turned out? I know its an old thread but I am experiencing the same thing. Except mine are not new bearings. Wheel gets hard to turn when tightening the axle nut.

          Tim,

On your front wheel, is it the bearing that's getting tight when you tighten the axle nut or are the brake disks getting pulled to one side in the brake calipers?

          Don has moved on.

I think the new bearing he got from the eBay seller fixed the problem but I'm not 100% certain. It was difficult to turn the inner race on one bearing even when the wheel was not mounted, that's a bad bearing or a bad installation.

Im pretty sure it is the bearing, as the calipers are free. But I will confirm this by compressing the piston a bit. I need to remove the wheel again and check the bearings.

              Spacer?

              TIMKTM:

You mentioned you had old bearings, Were they removed? If yes, did the spacer between the bearings make it back in? (Don't want to insult you.)

I have not had them apart yet. My guess is the spacer is too small or the bearings are too narrow. I had the wheel off when I was putting fork seals and neck bearings in. I should have taken a look at the bearings.
