  • Midnight maxim XJ11?

    This is new to me...

Badge says Midnight Maxim. Is this an XJ11? Has all the gold and black.

I'll post in bikes for sale if it is. I read that in 1984 importation of bikes over 700cc were made illegal in the US. This is a Canadian bike so I suppose it's pretty rare.

That's the XJ750 version, which was sold in north America. Not particularly rare....

Bikes larger than 700cc weren't banned, but did have increased import duties applied to them.

Hard to tell the difference between the 650 & 750 as it's all in the bore.

Here's pics of my $150.00 parts runner 750:

          Before:

          After a little clean up:

1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
          1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
          1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
          1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
          1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.
