So I figured I was lucky when I received my plastic frame cover (the frame neck cover thing that goes in front of the tank) in the mail which included the original rectangular reflectors with it. My question is, how the heck do those reflectors mount onto the bike? They can't possibly mount onto that plastic cover... The best I can do is look at pictures of factory bikes, but I can't get a clue. Is there some extra bracket my bike is missing?

What bike are you installing the reflectors on ? I have the cover on my SF but my '80G doesn't.
I do believe the SG has the cover and reflectors though.1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)
Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

If your talking about the two yellow reflectors that go up front, on the Special models they mount on the frame down tubes. There will be two tabs, very similar to the ones the tank badges mount on, on the sides of the down tubes.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
