Install XS850 Final Drive on a '79 XS1100SF or '80 XS11SG?

    Hey Schming, not exactly on the 750 FD. IIRC, 79 and later use the Type II. The identifier I look for is a Phillips screw in the face of the mating flange on the Type II. But yes, all 850 FD are type II.

      Thanxs guys that explains the difference that I was not aware of as both my 750 FD, that is installed on my '80G, and my MNS 850 FD on the shelf both have the Phillips screw.

      I've never seen the earlier type I.

      My wording, in the previous post should've stated to torque the pinion nut instead of the pinion bearing
