Problem Down Shifting

Well, my second gear repair is almost complete. I had to replace 5th gear, 1st shift fork, and dremmel 2nd gear. The good news is 1) I didn't forget how to put Maxi back together and 2) she upshifts just fine. The bad news is she won't downshift. I could manually (my test) do it before I reassembled the clutch side. Is this just a clutch adjustment or did I assemble something wrong? Any ideas guys? Thanks

Shift lever spring

I'm pretty sure I installed the spring on the shift pedal incorrectly. When I shift up the pedal snaps down like it should, but when I down shift the pedal stays down. Does anyone have a picture of how it should be installed? Also, do I have to drain the oil before removing the cover?
