Hello all, I'm new here and just wanted to say hi. I posted a wanted add on the classifieds since I'm in search of a Midnight Special. I thought some of you may be interested in this page I found on the Yamaha web site. It has a couple of really nice quality pictures of the MS. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products...ght_small.html
I ride a Harley presently but really have a craving for one of these as a second bike. A good friend had one he bought new and I always thought it was a really impressive piece of machinery.
    Thanks Underdog

    Welcome, Underdog.

You've found XS11 heaven, where you can find everything you never knew you wanted to know about the joys of owning an XS/XJ. And everyone here is happy to help you get through the painful parts.

A true brotherhood. Welcome from one Pennsylvanian to another,

    Randy (East Stroudsburg)

Be careful! If you buy an XS11 that Harley might get real dusty sitting in the corner!
I have ridden my share of Harleys, haven't found one yet I would trade my XS11 for (my wife wants me to get one)

Theres a 78 in Ontario Here
And a nice one not to far away in Michigan HERE

I paid 1500 for my 79f and it came with full bag set and in excellent condition. Specials have smaller tanks but they sound like nice rides.

All I need to do is finish changing oil and get my temp permit on tuesday. Think I'll try doing the test this year.

Thanks but I really have my heart set on a Midnight Special. Nothing at all wrong with the other models, this is just a personal obsession of mine. It's a long story but basically my friend Pete had one that he sold shortly before he died of cancer. It sat in his basement for years. I think he lost his nerve to ride actually. This was probably 5-6 yrs ago he sold it & I heard it went for $700. Another friend had the other one I knew of locally. He was killed years ago in a car wreck. Proves that motorcycleing may not be that dangerous after all!
The Harley's a 00 Heritage & I have 22,000mile on it from new. Sunk way more money in it than I'll ever get back for sure. Buffalo, one word of warning. If you get one the money the ole ladys will spend on Harley clothes will eclipse anything you could possible spend on one of these Yamahas! LOL!
Anyway, I've got some leads and I'm determined to get one but it sure won't be for $700
              Later, UD

                Midnight

I know of a Midnight Special here in Jacksonville, Fl.
The guy is asking about $1500.
Here's what I know about it:
                It runs.
                It leaks oil.
The seat is mainly duct tape.
                He is the original owner.
If your interesed I could get more details.
