  • Rejetting carbs for pod filter and straight pipes?

I've had a couple people drop links but no luck on figuring out what to jet to.
I did pod filters and went to straight exhaust. On a previous bike that was a 450 I was told to go up two sizes on the main and nothing on the the idle jet. Im just looking for the direction to head in, if you have a website for me or an experience that you had then I will gladly listen.

Hey Freedo, POD filters may or may not require up sizing the jets. I had an SG with POD filters with some home made velocity stacks, and a Kerker 4-1 with new baffle and packing. That ran fine on stock jetting. It may have had 45 pilot, but IIRC I put 42.5 pilots in it.

Its the straight exhaust that not many if any here can give you any solid advice on. IT will require much larger mains, maybe 5-6 sized up or more.

Here is the preaching you can ignore and go on if you like. Almost every one who has ever come on here and tried to run these beast on straight exhaust has either given up or added some form of mufflers and or baffles.

Best of luck, that is the best info I can give you.

Hey thanks alot DGXSER. I will give it a shot on stepping up that large. I actually have no issues whatsoever with running straight pipes, I was assuming that I'm losing quite a bit of power because of that. My bike is very responsive and performs very well but I guess I'm shooting for perfection here.
